For families
Wrongful death
When a crash or a fall takes someone, the family is left with grief and, soon after, with paperwork. We take on the claim so the family can take the time it needs.
A wrongful death claim is brought by the personal representative of the person's estate, on behalf of the family. If no one has been appointed yet, we help with that first step through the probate court.
The claim can recover what the death cost the family: medical and funeral bills, lost income and support, and the loss of a person's company and care. It sits beside any claim for what the person suffered before they died.
We meet families where they're comfortable, often at home. We move at the family's pace, while keeping an eye on the deadlines that don't wait.

- We come to youHome or hospital
No fee unless we recover money for you. We advance case costs such as records, experts and filing fees; they're repaid from a recovery, and if there's no recovery you owe nothing for them. The written fee agreement sets this out before you sign.
Questions people ask us about wrongful death
Who can bring the claim?
The personal representative of the estate brings it for the family. That's often a spouse or an adult child, named in a will or appointed by the probate court.
How soon do we need to decide?
There's a filing deadline, and it's shorter than many families expect. There's no need to decide anything in the first days, but a call within the first weeks keeps every option open.
Will this mean a trial?
Most wrongful death claims settle. If one doesn't, we prepare it for trial and tell the family at each step what that would involve.
