Questions

What people ask us first

If yours isn't here, call or text and ask it.

Fees

How do you charge?

We take a share of what we recover, set out in a written agreement before you sign. If there's no recovery, there's no fee.

What about costs?

We advance case costs, such as records, expert reports and filing fees. They're repaid from a recovery. If there's no recovery, you owe nothing for them.

Does the first meeting cost anything?

No. The first conversation is free and doesn't commit you to anything.

Insurers

The insurer offered to settle quickly. Should I take it?

Not before you know what the injury will cost you over time. A quick offer usually comes before anyone knows. Once you sign a release, the claim is over.

Who pays my medical bills while I wait?

Usually your health insurance and your car policy's medical payments coverage, repaid from a settlement. We sort out who pays first so bills don't go to collections.

Timing

Is there a deadline?

Yes. Every claim has a filing deadline, and claims involving a town or the state have shorter notice periods. Call early so none of them is close.

How long will my claim take?

Many settle within a year of treatment ending. If one goes to suit, it can take two years or more.

Meeting

Can you come to me?

Yes. We visit homes and hospitals from Kittery to Camden, and we meet by phone or video if that's easier.

What should I bring to a first meeting?

Whatever you have: the crash or incident report, photos, the insurer's letters, and the names of your doctors. Don't worry if you have none of it yet.

Do you take every case?

No. We take crashes, falls and wrongful-death cases. If yours is something else, such as an injury at your own job, we'll point you to someone who handles it.
